Henning Jönsson was known as one of the most radical model flyers in Denmark. He favoured simpler models that were quicker to build, and thought that competition flyers should have one model for every start (in those days detharmalizers were still at an experimental stage). His Pelikan (Pelican) from 1944 was inspired by the new Swedish and Finnish models with thinner wing profiles.
