Anders Deurell was a succesful Swedish wakefield flyer, who was renowned for his advanced streamlined designs. The Taifun is a geared wakefield with planked fuselage, which was featured in the magazine "Flygning". It was a good flier, but with all the wood in the fuselage and heavy gears, it was a bit overweight. It was speculated that its good performance was due to the fact that the comparatively high speed at which the model flew made the wing perform better due to a higher Reynolds number.
