Mick King designed this model for his company "Contest Kits", hoping to create a modern power model in kit form. The design was first tested in early 1957, and shortly thereafter won the East Anglian Area Winter Rally. The lightweight model was a very competitive in the Open class, while at the same time (with a little ballast) being able to fly in the FAI-class. In spite of this, the kit had a short production run, and was dropped when Keil Kraft bought Contest Kits in 1958.
