This model was designed and built in less than a week for the 1943 Swedish-Finnish Internationals. The then 15 year old Rune Andersson had been nominated as part of the Swedish team, but his two S3 gliders had flown away in a competition the week before. The "Fridolf" was designed as a simply and sturdy model, something that proved advantageous in the windy weather at the competition. With two flights of 5:10 and 6:10 he won the competition outright.
Note that the model is equipped with an auto-rudder, something that was still a novelty at that time.
