Description

A scale model of the Kranich, a famous sailplane from the late thirties. The model was designed in 1941 by Sven Hjelmérus. The plan is based on a preserved model built by K. E. Landegren, which in 1942 set a new Swedish record with a flight of 40 minutes. It was one of the first Swedish models outfitted with a dethermaliser, the timer (a modified clock from a Ford!) actuated air brakes in the wing.
