With his Ikarus, Leopol Scheuer won the international model sailplane competition that was held in connection with the 1937 ISTUS conference in Austria. The Ikarus, built entirely of hardwood, was suitable both for slope soaring and towline starts. A plan with building instructions was available from the Otto Maier publishing company.
